What Is the Highest Cupcake in 2048 Cupcakes?
The Rainbow Cupcake (tile 2048, 5,000 Kcal) is the cupcake that wins the game. The Crown Master (tile 4096, 10,000 Kcal) is the highest named cupcake, and you can only reach it in endless mode after you have won. This page explains both, what it takes to get there, how scores work, and what the highest score can be.

The Rainbow Cupcake: The Cupcake That Wins the Game
The Rainbow Cupcake has a rainbow-striped liner edged in gold, stacked swirls that shade from red through yellow and green to blue, purple and pink, and a golden star on top. It sits on tile 2048 and scores 5,000 Kcal when you create it.
How to Get the Rainbow Cupcake
Merge two Confetti Sundae cupcakes (tile 1024). In total, one Rainbow Cupcake is worth 1,024 Vanilla Birthday cupcakes, so you need at least about 930 moves to build it. In our test games, the games that got there took a median of about 1,000 moves. The step-by-step winning guide explains how to plan for it.
What Happens When You Make It
The game shows a "Sweet Victory! You created the Rainbow Cupcake!" message, plays a win sound and fires off confetti. You then choose between Keep Going, which continues the same game, and Try Again, which starts a new one.
Beyond the Rainbow: Endless Mode and the Crown Master
Pressing Keep Going after your win lets you play on. Merge two Rainbow Cupcakes and you create the Crown Master on tile 4096, worth 10,000 Kcal. It has a dark slate liner rimmed in gold, gold-leaf frosting and a golden crown set with pink, blue and green gems.
The Crown Master is twice the size of the Rainbow Cupcake, so it takes twice the work: 2,048 Vanilla Birthdays' worth of cupcakes and at least about 1,860 moves. Building one earns up to about 711,680 Kcal in total.
Is There Anything Above the Crown Master?
There are no named cupcakes above it. If you merge two Crown Masters, the game creates a numbered tier (Tier 8192) and keeps going. Getting there would take thousands of moves, so very few games ever come close.
How Hard Is Each Top Cupcake to Reach?
Every cupcake is built from smaller ones, and each move adds only one new cupcake (worth 2.2 on average). That sets a floor on how long each cupcake takes, however well you play:
| Cupcake | Worth (Vanilla Birthdays) | Fewest Moves | Kcal Earned Building One |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cupcake: Cookies & Cream (tile 512) | Vanilla Birthdays worth: 256 | Fewest moves: about 230 | Kcal earned building one: 84,960 Kcal |
| Cupcake: Confetti Sundae (tile 1,024) | Vanilla Birthdays worth: 512 | Fewest moves: about 465 | Kcal earned building one: 172,920 Kcal |
| Cupcake: Rainbow Cupcake (tile 2,048) | Vanilla Birthdays worth: 1,024 | Fewest moves: about 930 | Kcal earned building one: 350,840 Kcal |
| Cupcake: Crown Master (tile 4,096) | Vanilla Birthdays worth: 2,048 | Fewest moves: about 1,860 | Kcal earned building one: 711,680 Kcal |
The Kcal column assumes every new cupcake is a Vanilla Birthday. Real games score slightly less, because some new cupcakes spawn as Bubblegum Pink. The full cupcake list shows the same totals for every tier.
Highest Score in 2048 Cupcakes: Is There a Maximum?
There is no set maximum. Your score is the total Kcal of every cupcake you create, so it keeps growing for as long as you can keep merging. There is also no single "perfect score": the game never stops you, so the only limit is how long you can stay alive.
What Scores Look Like
To give you reference points, we ran test games on this game's own rules with three simple bots. These are not human benchmarks, but they show how much a good plan is worth:
| Strategy | Games | Median Final Score | Kcal Per Move |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strategy: Random swipes | Games: 2000 | Median final score: 31,600 Kcal | Kcal per move: 277 |
| Strategy: Fixed order: Down, Left, Right, Up last | Games: 2000 | Median final score: 65,680 Kcal | Kcal per move: 303 |
| Strategy: Two-move lookahead, corner weighting | Games: 300 | Median final score: 278,000 Kcal | Kcal per move: 335 |
Score Milestones on the Way to the Rainbow Cupcake
The two-move lookahead bot gives a picture of what your score should look like as you climb. These figures come from the games where the bot reached each cupcake:
| First Reached | Games | Median Score | Range | Median Moves |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First reached: Cookies & Cream (512) | Games that got there: 282 of 300 | Median score: about 87,000 Kcal | Range: 78,000 to 147,000 | Median moves: about 265 |
| First reached: Confetti Sundae (1024) | Games that got there: 201 of 300 | Median score: about 174,000 Kcal | Range: 160,000 to 289,000 | Median moves: about 515 |
| First reached: Rainbow Cupcake (2048) | Games that got there: 69 of 300 | Median score: about 346,000 Kcal | Range: 328,000 to 421,000 | Median moves: about 1,000 |
In other words, you should have roughly 87,000 Kcal when you first make Cookies & Cream, about 174,000 Kcal at the first Confetti Sundae, and around 346,000 Kcal by the time the Rainbow Cupcake appears. If your score is far below those numbers at the same stage, you are probably making too few merges, and your board may be getting messy.
Why Staying Alive Is the Best Way to Raise Your Score
In our test games a good game earns roughly 300 to 340 Kcal per move. That means every extra move you survive is worth about as much as one Sunshine Vanilla merge (320 Kcal). Adding 100 moves to a game adds around 30,000 Kcal, six times the 5,000 Kcal bonus for making the Rainbow Cupcake.
- Protect the chain: A tidy board lasts longer than a fast one. The winning guide shows how to keep it tidy.
- Press Keep Going: Endless mode roughly doubles the score you can reach, because the Crown Master takes about twice the moves and merges as the Rainbow.
- Use Undo to protect a good run: You can rewind up to 20 moves, so one bad spawn does not have to end a great score.
- Watch your best score: It is saved in your browser, so a new personal record is easy to spot.
Which Cupcake Is the Best in 2048 Cupcakes?
It depends on what you mean by "best". Here are three ways to look at it:
- Most Kcal in one merge: The Crown Master, at 10,000 Kcal, followed by the Rainbow Cupcake at 5,000 Kcal.
- Best value for the cupcakes you spend: The Bubblegum Pink. Merging two Vanilla Birthdays scores 250 Kcal, which is 125 Kcal for each Vanilla Birthday used. The Rainbow Cupcake scores only about 4.9 Kcal for each Vanilla Birthday it is built from.
- Where most of your score comes from: The small merges. Building one Rainbow Cupcake takes 512 Bubblegum Pink merges alone, worth 128,000 Kcal, a little over a third of the total.
So the top cupcakes are the goal, but your score is mostly built on the small ones. See the complete cupcake list for every cupcake with its Kcal value. If you like this kind of puzzle, you may also enjoy other games like 2048 Cupcakes.
