We measured the game in a test browser. Here is what we found:
- It is small: All the game's own files (the page, styles and scripts) add up to roughly 120 KB, before any compression. There are no image files, because the cupcake artwork is drawn in code.
- It needs nothing extra: No plugin, no installer, no login. Any browser with JavaScript turned on can run it.
- It stops using the network once loaded: After the page finished loading, we played several moves with the connection switched off. The game kept working and made zero further network requests.
- It survives a blocked font: The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which some networks block. With that blocked, the game still loaded and played normally, just in standard fonts.
